Soon to be featured on Cafe Racer TV, an all out performance race bike build of a 1970 CB350 Honda twin, the most popular vintage bike being raced today. Stan Lipert, one of the countries most renowned Honda builders, built a fast race bike for club racer Jerry Dudley to compete on at the Mid-Ohio race track during AMA's Vintage Motorcycle Days. Jerry is coming out of a nine year retirement to race vintage. "It wouldn't be possible to build a bike this fast or as easily without Todd Henning Racing parts" says Stan. The engine features Henning supplied Megacycle billet cams and THR race pistons with teflon wrist pin buttons. Cam drive is handled by a THR adjustable cam sprocket, a Tsubaki cam chain and KA slipper tensioner. RD valve springs with titanium tops keep the oversize valves in check. Carbs are THR pre jetted Mikuni VM32, Ignition is by PVL magneto on THR mounts. The transmission uses a THR close ratio 5th gear, and final drive is by a light weight 520 chain and gearing, also sourced from THR.
Jerry got up to speed quickly on the CRTV Honda, earning himself two third place finishes throughout the weekend. Stan raced his own THR equipped CB350 to three race wins and the AMA 70's GP250 championship.
